The foyer creates a dramatic pause with the “Morning Glory” floor lamp from Ayala Serfaty’s line of organic lamps. “Its movement begins in a vertical motion and fans out at the top,” designer Don Yoshino said.

“Yoshino integrated another unexpected visual and tactile element with an onyx sculptural form in the kitchen. Sliced and stacked ribbons of onyx create a resplendent fiber optic sculpture that establishes an interplay of wood, steel and stone. He chose African Wedge wood for the custom-milled cabinetry and poured concrete for the countertops —sealed and finished to a polished sheen.

Color is introduced in the media room, where a custom-designed area rug in signature shades of red, green and brown centers an oversized tan leather sofa in front of the media wall. Texture is layered in with a pair of bamboo floor vases while woven barrel chairs mirror an underlying circular theme.

Generous proportions in the master bedroom accommodate the custom-designed bed and cabinetry. Wide-plank wood flooring adds texture and depth to the space, while chenille bedding, suede pillows in muted reds and greens, and a tan faux-suede head board bring the home’s natural elements together. To soften the space, copper-colored sheers hang gracefully behind the bed.
